Nominations open for Student Excellence Awards

From volunteering to sporting excellence, leadership and community engagement, our students achieve incredible things. Southern Cross University is celebrating student success through the 2026 Student Excellence Awards.

Nominations are open now for students who demonstrate excellence and impact through a significant contribution to enhancing student experience, fostering positive change or engagement with communities leading to lasting impact.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Tyrone Carlin, said the awards recognise the remarkable contributions of Southern Cross University students. 

“Our winners represent the very best of our student community. Last year, we celebrated the achievements of our extraordinary students, whose contributions span from student societies and cultural initiatives to championing mental health, advancing inclusion, and encouraging participation in sport and community service,” Professor Carlin said. 

“I wish all finalists the very best and congratulate them on their achievements.”

For Master of Nursing student, Anagha Sivaprasad, receiving the 2025 Student Excellence Award for Outstanding Leadership was incredibly meaningful.

Anagha was recognised for her exceptional leadership as a Student Ambassador, representing Southern Cross University with professionalism and warmth.

"This award recognised not only my academic journey but also the time and passion I’ve put into contributing to the university community. As an international student, it made me feel truly valued and encouraged me to keep taking opportunities to learn, lead and give back," Anagha said.
