Picture ticking off Australia’s must-do adventures: sailing the Whitsundays, snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, chasing hidden waterfalls and exploring vibrant coastal cities. Now imagine sharing those moments with friends from around the world, the people you’ll study with, travel with, and stay connected to long after your study ends.
With the Study Abroad Storytelling Scholarship, your time in Australia becomes more than study. It becomes a story worth telling. If you love capturing moments, whether through photos, video, writing or audio, this scholarship gives you the chance to document your experience while studying at Southern Cross University.

A range of scholarships are available for eligible students.
Course of study
3 or 4 unit Study Abroad course at the Gold Coast or Lismore SCU campus.
Storytelling Pathways
Scholarship recipients will tell their story through two of the following storytelling pathways, sharing real experiences that highlight their time in studying in Australia.
Social Media Storyteller
Receive social media training and create content such as Instagram reels, story takeovers and short videos that capture your life studying in Australia.

Mixed Media Storyteller
Document your experience through photo stories, and written reflections or podcast-style storytelling about your time at Southern Cross University.

Application Process
Contact studyabroad@scu.edu.au for more information about the Study Abroad Storytelling Scholarship.
Applicants applying for this scholarship must:
- Be approved for Study Abroad by their home institution.
- Have eligibility assessed by the SCU Admissions team when they apply for admission.
- Study on a student visa.
- Maintain eligibility by passing all enrolled units each Term.
- Not be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.
- Be from an eligible country (email studyabroad@scu.edu.au for the list).
- Accept their Study Abroad offer by: 30 June 2026 (for Term 3/4/5 2026 or T1 2027).
- Agree to share their study abroad story through two of the following pathways:
- Social Media Storyteller
- Mixed Media Storyteller
- Storyteller Ambassador
Offers are first come, first served. To be eligible, you must accept your study abroad offer by: 30 June 2026 (for T3/4/5 2026 and T1 2027).
