Bachelor of Education (Secondary)

Thinking about becoming a teacher? Our Bachelor of Education, majoring in Secondary, allows you to choose two specialisations to work with students from Year 7 to 12.  

The four-year full-time degree includes Indigenous education, sustainability, inclusive (special) education, along with curriculum and pedagogy learning across a range of disciplines.

Bachelor of Education (Secondary)/ Bachelor of Arts

The double degree equips you with the expertise to become a secondary teacher while gaining a strong foundation in the arts. The Bachelor of Education includes extensive professional placement and qualifies you to teach in secondary schools in up to two subjects, while the Bachelor of Arts offers three exciting majors to tailor your studies in either Creative Writing, Humanities or Social Sciences. Each major includes a research project with an academic supervisor where you can focus deeply on an area that interests you.

Graduate Diploma of Teaching

The Graduate Diploma of Teaching is a fantastic option for those wanting to start teaching as soon as possible. This one-year graduate diploma is a pathway into teaching in either primary or secondary schools.

Graduates of this course can apply for conditional registration as a casual or temporary classroom teacher after just 12 months of successful completion of study as they work towards the NESA-accredited Master of Teaching.

Master of Teaching (Secondary)

The Master of Teaching is designed for those with prior studies seeking a career change to teaching. The two-year program qualifies you to be a teacher in Australia and overseas.

Students will undertake a research project, 480 hours of professional experience and deepen their learning with subjects in diverse backgrounds, digital disruptions, Indigenous education and education for impact.
