NAIDOC Week

National Aboriginal and Islanders Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) Week commemorates its 50th year in 2025, and the Equity & Diversity team want your help to bring celebrations to our campuses. 

As a NAIDOC Week 2025 Vollie, you will...

  • Learn about and share the significance of NAIDOC Week in Australia
  • Help serve food to students
  • Assist with set-up, pack-down, and everything in between

NAIDOC Week celebrations will be held on Thursday, 24 July, at our Coffs Harbour, Gold Coast, and Lismore campuses.

Stress Less Week

The end of the term can be a stressful time, which is why LEXSA hosts Stress Less Week! Help to deliver a day full of relaxation, crafting, music, and all things calm to help students get in the right headspace to smash through their final assessments.

As a Stress Less Week Vollie, you will...

  • Engage with students and direct them to the best-suited activity for their needs
  • Man the badge-making station so students can take an affirmation with them
  • Assist with set-up, pack-down, and everything in between

The Stress Less Week event is happening on Wednesday, 6 August, at the Lismore campus.

Future Teachers Club

The Faculty of Education's Future Teachers Club welcomes primary school students to SCU to introduce them to the world of education and teaching. This upcoming visit centres on the theme: A day in the life of a university student

As a Future Teachers Club Vollie, you will...

  • Sit on a panel of current students to discuss what it is like to study at SCU
  • Answer questions from primary school-aged children about your time at university
  • Support the delivery of the event as requested by the faculty

The Future Teachers Club is meeting on two occasions:

  • Tuesday, 9 September, at the Gold Coast campus
  • Monday, 15 September, at the Lismore campus

Social Media Crew

Are you passionate about social media and love creating engaging content? With the Social Media Crew, you will have the chance to brainstorm ideas, create fun posts, reels and stories, and showcase your creativity while building valuable skills.

As a Social Media Crew Vollie, you will...

  • Collaborate with the team to brainstorm creative ideas for social media content
  • Create engaging posts, videos, and stories across various platforms 
  • Assist in planning and scheduling content to maintain a consistent online presence
  • Help monitor and respond to audience interactions and comments 
  • Stay up-to-date with current social media trends and incorporate them into content
  • Work with other team members to promote events and initiatives 

Whether you're a pro or just starting out, we’d love to have you on board - make sure you include any of your social media experience in the free text field on the registration form!

The Social Media Crew is an ongoing opportunity (approximately 2-5 hours per week) available to students on our Coffs Harbour, Gold Coast, and Lismore campuses.

Sports Crew

UniLife is looking for students to support their various social sports programs.

As a Sports Crew Vollie, you will...

  • Assist with arrival administration, settling in students, and supporting the sporting requirements of related competitions
  • Assist with the promotion of any activity relating to the event/program through UniLife social media
  • Promote a cooperative, inclusive, and fun sporting experience
  • Organise and attend weekly activities according to the social sport calendar
  • Document any injury or behavioural concerns
  • Other duties as assigned or needed

The Sports Crew is an ongoing opportunity (maximum 6 hours per week) available to students on our Coffs Harbour, Gold Coast, and Lismore campuses.

SCU Mates

SCU Mates is a peer mentoring program that connects new students with the university community to ensure they feel welcomed and supported.

As an SCU Mates Mentor, you will...

  • Connect with commencing first-year undergraduate students (Mentees) either online or on campus - whatever works best for you!
  • Provide non-academic support and advice
  • Share experiences and tips to help new students settle into their studies
  • Refer new students to support services - training is provided.

SCU Mates is an ongoing opportunity available to all students who have completed at least two terms of study at SCU.
