The Study Abroad Community Service Scholarships are for international students enrolled in a 3-unit or 4-unit Study Abroad course who want to give back.

The Community Service Scholarship rewards study abroad students with a creative and socially aware idea for giving back. Whether big or small, your project should show initiative, heart, and a commitment to making the university and the local community a better place live and study.

2 January 2026 for Term 1 (March Intake)
1 May 2026 for Term 3 (July Intake)
26 June 2026 for Term 4 (August Intake)

Applicants applying for this scholarship must:

  1. Be an international student with an offer for a 3-unit or 4-unit Study Abroad course in one of the following 2026 intake terms:

    Term 1 (March)
    Term 3 (July)
    Term 4 (August)
  2. Submit a brief proposal (250-word maximum) outlining a self-directed community service idea or project you plan to engage in while studying at Southern Cross Uni.

It’s not about how much time or effort is required—it’s about thoughtful engagement, creativity, and initiative. 

Scholarship applications will be reviewed by a selection committee one to two weeks after the closing date.

Selection will be awarded to study abroad offer-holders who:

  1. demonstrate diversity in citizenship and home institution, and
  2. present a creative, original proposal that reflects innovative thinking.

All scholarship applicants will be notified of the outcome by email.
