Unit description

Introduces fundamental aspects of urban and rural road system design including layout, geometric requirements, safety considerations, pavement drainage, design, and maintenance.

Design of rigid pavements
Design of flexible pavements
Pavement management and maintenance strategies
Road drainage design

Learning outcomes

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
