Unit description
Promotes the continuing development and translation of theory in practice. Enables the midwifery student to plan, implement and evaluate safe midwifery care for the woman requiring complex care during pregnancy in conjunction with the Australian College of Midwives [ACM] Consultation and Referral Guidelines, Policy, Procedure and Guidelines.
Unit content
- Evidence-based care of the woman with complex pregnancy
- Endocrine complications in pregnancy
- Infections impacting pregnancy
- Pathophysiology, detection and management of complications in pregnancy
- Bleeding and blood disorders
- Medical and other conditions impacting pregnancy
