Unit description

Introduces students to the design, management and evaluation of effective stakeholder engagement processes in engineering environments. Theories and frameworks are explored to enable students to consider appropriate strategies for managing participation. A case study will provide students with the opportunity to explore stakeholder engagement, and reflect on and evaluate effective engineering management processes.

Unit content

Topic 1. Principles of public participation in engineering management
Topic 2. Leading practice stakeholder engagement frameworks
Topic 3. Factors to determine appropriate engagement strategies
Topic 4. Developing stakeholder engagement plans
Topics 5&6. Case studies of effective stakeholder engagement in engineering management contexts

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
