Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

identify common organic functional groups and describe their chemical and physical properties

explain the chemistry, the reactions, the methods of analysis, and the biological significance of selected organic compounds

solve problems related to organic chemical reactions

describe and employ laboratory methods and techniques to evaluate chemical and physical properties of organic substances
