Unit of Study EDUC2020 Education and ICT: Digital Disruptions (2027)

Unit description

This unit equips students with the capacity to design learning experiences that engage Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary school students through the integration of Information and communication technologies (ICT) as an integral part of contemporary education for students, as well as professional practice for teachers. There is an emphasis on evaluation of digital applications and resources to support differentiated teaching and authentic engagement for diverse learners in a range of learning environments. Students will critically consider a range of issues related to ICT implementation in education, including social and cultural considerations, ethical concerns, equity, and emerging forms of social practice and media. Theories and models specific to ICT in education are examined to support students in developing evaluation skills to critically assess the value of technology use in educational settings.
