Unit Snapshot

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

analyse institutional policies relating to classroom management and evaluate their influence on behaviour management practices

interpret whole-person approaches to classroom management and evaluate the significance of learning environments, including the use of innovative teaching strategies and routines, in supporting positive behaviour

apply an understanding of the main approaches to resilient, sustainable classroom management through analysis and evaluation of interpersonal communications, relationships and classroom structures

apply and evaluate communication skills and behaviour management strategies that support positive learning behaviours and student engagement
