Unit Snapshot

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

critically analyse and apply the key principles, practices, and learning outcomes of the Early Years Learning Framework V2.0 and the National Quality Standard, demonstrating advanced knowledge of how they guide professional practice

apply knowledge and skills to evaluate learning environments for children that are of high quality, flexible and sustainable both indoors and outdoors

critically analyse how environments, relationships, and everyday practices shape children’s social, emotional, and physical development with opportunities for growth and flourishing

evaluate and implement legal, ethical, and inclusive practices that reflect professional responsibility and commitment to quality in early childhood education
