Enrolment information
Students MUST enrol prior to Week 1. This unit provides intensive workshops which begin on day 1 of teaching and assessment aligned with the Early Childhood Placement.
Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
analyse the National Quality Framework for the provision of infant-toddler educational and care contexts in terms of quality, policy and practice
critically analyse and apply theoretical, developmental and practical perspectives of pedagogy for infant and toddler learning
develop a professional philosophy to guide the intent of teaching and learning with infants, toddlers and preschoolers, with a focus on teacher attributes and pedagogies that support children’s strengths and capabilities
observe, document, assess and critically reflect on an early childhood educational program for infants and toddlers using the planning cycle
