After hours swipe access at SCU Library
After hours swipe access at the Gold Coast and Lismore Libraries for SCU students and staff
SCU staff and students can enable after hours swipe access to the following library spaces outside core staffed hours:
- Gold Coast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Lismore 7am – 6pm weekdays / 10am – 6pm weekends.
Students will automatically have swipe access to library spaces after hours. It is a University requirement that students complete SCUs Respect Matters module to continue to access library spaces after hours.
The Respect Matters module is designed to cultivate an understanding of respectful behaviour within the Southern Cross University community, fostering an inclusive and diverse campus culture. It addresses various expectations and responsibilities for SCU students, including respectful community engagement, understanding gender-based violence and its impact, supporting others and bystander responses, affirmative consent, online safety, racism, religious vilification and antisemitism, and avenues for seeking support both at SCU and in the wider community.
Accessible through MySCU, the module can be located in your information sites, the FYI Module, or directly here. You may need to allow pop-ups from https://learn.scu.edu.au.
Respect Matters replaces the previous Respect@SCU module and is part of how we support students to thrive at SCU. It takes approximately 30 – 60 minutes to complete. All students will be required to complete the module in Term 2, 2026, with new students in subsequent terms completing alongside the AIMS module.
For any issues with the Respect Matters module, please contact studentsafety@scu.edu.au for assistance.
SCU staff can use their staff cards to access the Gold Coast and Lismore libraries after hours. Please contact security if your card is not working.
