Pro-invest Group RISE Hotel Management Scholarship

The Pro-invest Group RISE Hotel Management Scholarship is designed for students pursuing degrees that prepare them for careers in the Hotel or Tourism sectors post-graduation. In addition to financial assistance, recipients may also have the ability to access valuable resources such as mentorship, internships, and potential employment opportunities within Pro-invest Group.

How to apply

Applicants applying for this scholarship must:

  1. Be a commencing or continuing student, enrolled in one of the following degrees:
  2. Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Meet the criteria for low socio-economic status by demonstration one of the following:
    • Are receiving or expect to receive a Centrelink means-tested income support payment (such as Disability Support Pension, Parenting Payment Single, Carer Payment etc.).
    • Dependent commencing students aged between 16–20 years whose parent/guardian is in receipt of Family Tax Benefit (FTB) Part A for this student at the time of application.

Note: Students will not be eligible for consideration if they:

  • Already hold a bachelor’s degree or higher-level award, unless the award you hold is a prerequisite to the bachelor course you are enrolled in (or will be enrolled in);
  • Already receive or will be receiving another type of Commonwealth/government funded Scholarship; for example, Indigenous Commonwealth Education Costs Scholarship; or
  • Already receive or will be receiving another non-government funded scholarship valued at more than $5,000 per year.

Selection will be based on:

  1. A personal introductory statement (400–500 words) which includes why they are applying for the scholarship and what they hope to achieve in the future through the completion of their chosen area of study.
  2. Pro-invest Group and Southern Cross University will generally award scholarships to applicants who demonstrate multiple disadvantages under the following:
    • Carer responsibilities
    • English language difficulties
    • Financial hardship
    • Indigenous Australians
    • Long-term medical condition/disability or ongoing effects of abuse
    • Sole-parent responsibilities

Special note: geographic disadvantage will not be considered for current (i.e. continuing) students. For future commencing on-campus students it will be automatically calculated by Southern Cross University based on your permanent home address/recently completed secondary schooling.

Note: There may be further opportunities such as internships and employment for the recipients of scholarships. Internships and employment will be subject to discussions between Pro-invest Group and the student directly.

The scholarship is not contingent on a student taking a position with Pro-invest Group, however the donor is able to provide the student with information about Pro-invest Group’s mentorships, work experience, internships and potential employment.
The Donor may offer a mentor from the Donor’s organisation.
