Unit description
Examines the principles of contract law and how they regulate ‘private’ obligations entered into between individuals, and/or individual legal entities. Introduces some theoretical influences that shaped development of common law contract principles. Discusses legal principles related to formation of a contract, formalities and the meaning given to the terms of the contract.

Module 1: The nature of contract and agreement (Formation)
Module 2: Consideration, intention and certainty (Formation)
Module 3: Formalities, capacity and privity (Enforcement)
Module 4: Express terms (Content of the Contract)
Module 5: Construing the terms and implied terms (Content of the contract)
Module 6: The implied duty of good faith & frustration (Content and discharge of the contract)
