Southern Cross University (SCU) cooperates with other Registered Training Organisations (RTO's) and Higher Education Providers (HEP's) to develop pathways from SCU into Vocational Education and Training (VET) or specialist Higher Education (HE) qualifications offered by other educational providers in Australia and overseas.

Reciprocal (reverse) pathways provide:

  • recognition of SCU prior learning toward a vocational qualification to enable degree students to gain paid employment experience within an industry relevant to their SCU studies and to more readily afford ongoing university study;
  • an employment advantage for SCU students who choose a degree pathway with integrated diploma, advanced diploma or associate degree to graduate with multiple qualifications in the shortest possible time;
  • greater support for the national and international mobility of SCU graduates; and
  • facilitated lifelong learning through various education levels, organisations and specialisations beyond SCU, with maximum recognition for SCU learning experiences.
