The academic requirements indicate the minimum academic standard students must have undertaken in order to apply for a particular course. All students whose first language is not English must also meet the University's English language requirements.

Undergraduate admission requirements

For undergraduate degrees, the required entry score uses the Australian Year 12 qualification which is measured by the Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR). Each course is given an ATAR is an indicative score for entry into the program, based on the previous academic year. This score can be found in theAcademic Score by Country

When assessing applications against the relevant Academic Standards, the University will use accepted educational resources, including Australian Education International - NOOSR, UK NARIC, University Admissions Centre Assessment of Qualifications Manual and the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre Schedule to establish the Australian equivalence of an applicant’s overseas qualifications. 

Please note that some courses in allied health, nursing, midwifery and health sciences have inherent requirements.

Postgraduate entry requirements

Qualification equivalent to an Australian Bachelor degree [suggest linking to policy], plus specific requirements as indicated in the course structure tab. Students are required to have a degree considered by the University to be equivalent to an Australian Bachelor degree. Students without a degree but with substantial relevant work experience may be admitted to a Graduate Diploma or Masters.
