Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
explain a theory-based understanding and knowledge of the role of literacy and numeracy in education
analyse the literacy and numeracy demands placed upon students within specific Learning Areas through examination and alignment of student work samples and learning resources with expected capabilities to identify strengths and areas for individual improvement
develop teaching plans with explicit literacy and numeracy foci, incorporating effective strategies to inform teaching and provide targeted support for students who require additional assistance
develop practice-ready capability to navigate, refer to, and plan from the General Capabilities: Literacy and Numeracy, working to identify and elevate all students’ skills at, below, or above the expected levels in these areas
