Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

critically review and evaluate relevant research literature using a thematic approach to identify knowledge gaps that could be addressed through a research project

devise a structured research approach and methodology to complete an engineering research project

initiate a research project by sourcing necessary resources, obtaining necessary approvals, and commencing preliminary data collection

clearly communicate, through written and oral approaches, research project reporting methodologies and approaches.
