Unit Snapshot

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

design and critically evaluate complex energy systems using a systems approach that integrates advanced energy engineering principles with environmental and economic constraints

develop and manage complex energy engineering projects as a team, and communicate outcomes while demonstrating professional judgement, ethical conduct, accountability, and reflective practice

apply and critically evaluate renewable energy principles to implement effective and sustainable solutions across diverse sectors

develop and justify optimised HVAC system designs by integrating advanced air conditioning principles, psychrometric analysis, load estimation, and duct network modelling to achieve energy-efficient and sustainable performance in built environments

critically analyse and evaluate comprehensive energy audits, integrating environmental and economic impact assessments to develop, justify, and implement sustainable energy management strategies.
