Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

critically analyse micro, meso, and macro contexts shaping occupational participation for people experiencing mental health challenges

design and justify evidence-informed occupational therapy for people experiencing mental health challenges which is compliant with contemporary approaches to health care and funding models

apply critical reflexivity to examine ethical dilemmas, power relations, professional responsibilities, and occupational justice within contemporary funding-based systems

integrate professional reasoning, advocacy, communication, and leadership skills to influence systemic change and promote occupational participation and justice
