Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

demonstrate developing skills required to work as a safe, competent pedorthic practitioner

demonstrate case management skills - assessment, planning, therapeutic intervention and evaluation

provide person centred pedorthic advice and appliances at a beginning level

discuss professional boundaries of practice, including ethics

communicate competently by written and oral means with clients, peers, staff, and other health care professionals

evaluate and critique the evidence for pedorthic practice

identify hazards and develop safe work procedures with the pedorthic environment
