    Recommended that students undertake Foundations for Religious Education as the first unit in the Graduate Certificate in Religious Education.


Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

interrogate and interpret the similarities, differences, perspectives and methodologies of theology and science, with reference to Christianity.

critically analyse and evaluate the dominant cultural paradigm concerning the relationships between faith and science.

integrate teaching practice with the dominant cultural paradigm demonstrating advanced knowledge of Christian and other religious perspectives on the relationship among faith, reason and science.

synthesise science and theology perspective and methodologies into curriculum design.
