Gold Coast campus closed for southeast Queensland snap lockdown

All buildings at Bilinga and Coomera will be locked to student and staff card access until the campuses re-open at 8am Wednesday August 4, subject to the lockdown being lifted Tuesday afternoon. The only people allowed on campus will be the security guards.

Mr Allan Morris, Vice President (Operations), said the Deputy Premier Steven Miles described it as Queensland’s “strictest lockdown” to date and the University was responding accordingly.

“Thank you to students and staff for your flexibility as we respond to this situation," Mr Morris said.

“Where teaching activities intended for the week are disrupted by this lockdown, the relevant Faculty will be in touch to plan appropriate adjustments. Students on placement will receive a separate email from their Faculty and any questions relating to impacts on clinical placements should be directed to Faculty Professional Experience Units."
