Unit description
Introduces students to curriculum, assessment and pedagogy in their key learning area. It focuses on Years 7-10 (Stages 4-5) syllabuses within the continuum of learning. The unit encourages critical engagement with the role, value, requirements and current issues in the area. Students will design lessons, assessments, resources and activities related to units from their subject syllabus. These designs will be informed by a range of teaching and learning priorities including critical, creative and connected inquiry-based learning, differentiation, disability and inclusion, Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander cultures, digital technologies, literacy and numeracy.

Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
