Unit description

This unit empowers students to lead the development of industrial robotic systems through the critical application of an advanced systems-based engineering framework. Utilising a research-led, scenario-based learning model, students will demonstrate expert judgment in the synthesis of complex engineering design, advanced systems analysis, and strategic project management. Participants will engage in high-level problem-solving by critically evaluating a range of specialised tools and methodologies to deliver innovative, real-world solutions for a complex industry-based engineering project.

Control System Design and Analysis - Root Locus

formulate and justify sophisticated engineering solutions by evaluating and selecting advanced techniques, specialised tools, and strategic resources to resolve complex automation and control challenges

systematically interpret and transmit complex technical outcomes and design insights derived from an advanced industrial project to both specialist and non-specialist audiences

evaluate management strategies and ethical considerations in leading and reporting on complex industrial automation initiatives, exercising professional accountability and high-level autonomy

critically synthesise multifaceted project requirements and design innovative, high-fidelity engineering solutions to complex automation and control challenges, collaborating effectively within a team and strategically evaluating advanced techniques and specialised tools.
