Whether you're new or welcoming someone to the team as their supervisor, there's plenty of tools to help. Use the below to find relevant information:

Visit the MyHR portal and log in using your SCU credentials. If you experience issues, contact the Technology Services Service Desk or review information on Knowledge Base or see MyHR Overview.
After logging into MyHR, navigate to the 'Personal Details' section to view or update your information. See the MyHR Overview for more information.
Log into MyHR, navigate to 'Dashboard' > 'Timesheets', and enter your start and finish times for the relevant period. Check your timesheet summary and then submit the timesheet for approval by your Supervisor. See the MyHR Overview for more information.
Pay Schedules are available on the Pay, conditions & benefits page and outline submission deadlines and pay dates.
Log into MyHR, navigate to 'My Forms' from the Dashboard, and select the Pay Claim Form. Enter the required details, ensuring they match your contract information. You may also find the Casual Teaching Associate pay claim form guidelines helpful.

Payslips are accessible through MyHR under the 'Pay Advice' section. See MyHR Overview for more information.
Head to the secure Payroll site for pay days, pay deadlines, TFN declarations, HELP/study debt information and FAQs, including contact information.
SCU offers various benefits, including salary sacrificing, superannuation options, and wellness programs. Details are available Pay, conditions & benefits page.

Use the Self-Service Password Reset portal. If issues persist, contact the Technology Services Service Desk. See the Password & Username FAQ for more.
Log into MyHR and navigate to the 'Personal Details' section to update your emergency contact information. See the MyHR Overview for more information.
Complete the 'Study Assistance Application' form available on the Policies, procedures and forms page and submit it as per the instructions.
Scout is SCU's Learning Management System for training and development. Access it via Single Sign On (SSO) here or contact Organisational Development for assistance.
Our Performance Review and Planning (PRP) process has evolved into Momentum, a framework designed to encourage regular, constructive conversations to sustain a thriving culture. The principles outlined in the PRP Policy align with Momentum.
Submit a leave application through MyHR by navigating to 'Dashboard' > 'Leave' and selecting the appropriate leave type. If you are unable to apply for a type of leave through MyHR, you will need a Leave application form. See MyHR Overview for more information.
Information on salary sacrificing, including applications for fitness centre membership and motor vehicles, are available via the Salary sacrificing page.
When submitting timesheets or pay claims in MyHR ensure you select the correct employee number corresponding to each appointment. See MyHR Overview for more information.
Head to the secure Marketing site and under the heading 'Quick downloads' you will find marketing - email signature. This will guide you through how to update your email signature.

If you want to book a SCU Pool Vehicle, head to the Fleet and Vehicles site for information on how to complete the booking form and review the FAQs. Booking forms are per campus.
Requests can be submitted via Jira to Technology Services. Log in to Jira and select the option 'request Computer (New or Replacement) and fill in the appropriate fields. Your work unit may choose to order this type of equipment via their stationery order, so it's best to check with your Supervisor or Induction Buddy first.
Head to the Research Launchpad, the heart of support for the research community at SCU. Here, you'll find a suite of information, links and resources to support you at any stage of your research project lifecycle or career. You can also find Research contacts via their Contact us page.
General student information can be found within the Current students page, which includes key dates, events and support.
You can find information about how to use Concur via the secure Expense Services page. If you need further support or assistance, or would like to register for training, you can submit a support form or reach out to the team at expenses@scu.edu.au.
Staff ID cards (building access passes) are allocated to you with designated security access, depending on what your supervisor has requested. We suggest validating your pass weekly to ensure your access remains active. Your Supervisor or Induction Partner will show you how to do this.
In your first week, you will need to obtain a Staff ID Card. This card should be carried with you at all times while on any University campus. It is also used to gain library borrowing rights and approved after-hours access to University buildings.
Take your photo identification (eg your driver's license) to one of the following locations and your ID Card will be printed for you, or contact idcard@scu.edu.au for assistance.
- Coffs Harbour - Student Centre (Ground Floor, M Block)
- Gold Coast - The Shared Services Hub
- Lismore - The Student Centre, Goodman Plaza
If room keys are needed, or after-hours access to University buildings is necessary as part of your duties, complete the appropriate Key and Access Request form and obtain the authorisation required:

You will need to discuss expectations with your Supervisor, as processes may vary across the University. Notify your Supervisor as soon as possible of any absence. Notice and evidence requirements of Personal or Carers leave are covered by clauses 112 - 117 of the Enterprise Agreement 2024.
Mobile phones for work purposes are approved by your work unit supervisor and handsets are purchased via the work unit. Once you have a handset, contact the Technology Service Desk for an activated SIM, and/or any mobile issues or requests.
Each team will have their own ways of working. Some will prefer a local drive (ie a W drive); some will utilise MS Teams, and others will utilise SharePoint, or a combination of all of the above! Chat with your Supervisor, Induction Partners and colleagues about how to store and access documents.

An email is sent out yearly by the student support team with the location of where to collect your printable yearly planner.
If you aren't sure how best to communicate, ask! Some teams prefer MS Teams calls, others prefer emails. It's really up to the business units and their preferred ways of working. If you can pick up the phone and have a quick chat - we encourage you to do so!
There may be peak times where some work units are unable to support leave requests. This should be discussed in advance with your Supervisor and made known to you early on your onboarding journey. If you have any questions or concerns about this, speak with your supervisor or Head of Work Unit.

Visit Concur via the Expense Services page if you need to submit or acquit expense claims. If you need further support or assistance, submit a support form or reach out to the team at expenses@scu.edu.au

Reach our to your Finance Business Partner via the Contact us page to discuss whether you have a budget and how this is allocated to you.
If you are on a fixed-term contract, your cessation date is listed in your contract of employment. Your supervisor will confirm with you no later than four weeks before your contract is due to cease if you will be concluding or whether there is an approved extension in place. If you are experiencing technology issues, log a service desk ticket by emailing servicedesk@scu.edu.au or by logging into Jira.
This will largely vary depending on your role, and which Faculty or Work Unit you're appointed to. Your Supervisor or Induction partner will discuss this with you.

Your Induction Partner/Buddy should take you on a campus tour as part of your first week's activities. You can also find virtual Campus tours on our website.
Work units and faculties are responsible for maintaining their own buddy systems. If you are not allocated an Induction Partner or Buddy upon commencement, chat with your Supervisor about having someone nominated to help you navigate university systems, tools and resources.
