International Student Barometer
Southern Cross University continues to rank very well in the latest International Student Barometer.
In the 2018 International Student Barometer, Southern Cross University was ranked number one in Australia for overall international student support. This is an acknowledgment of the early engagement our International Student Support Team provides our students right from orientation.
“Making sure our students feel connected and supported in their new environment is really important. By meeting with students individually in the first two weeks, our staff can make them feel comfortable and confident to ask questions when they need any assistance. We make sure they are familiar with the University’s systems and our online teaching platform, and to know what additional systems are in place to assist them with essay or report writing, database searches or presentations” says Jacky Zhang, Manager of the International Student Support Team.
The arrival category covers the welcome, local orientation, accommodation, opening a bank account, meeting staff, study sense, health insurance, finance, registration and social activities. The arrival program at Southern Cross, which includes orientation, is a comprehensive program that assists students to settle into their new environment and this is an area in which Southern Cross excels.
Southern Cross scored above the national average in both satisfaction of the application process and the turn-around time for international applications.
