Southern Cross University continued to rank very well in the 2016 International Student Barometer (ISB).

The  international student support team was ranked number two in Australia, highlighting the early engagement the team provides right from orientation. “Making sure the students feel connected and supported in their new environment is really important. By meeting with the students individually in the first two weeks, our staff can make the students feel comfortable and confident to ask questions if they need any assistance. We make sure they are familiar with the university systems and online teaching platform and know what additional systems are in place to assist with essay or report writing, database searches or presentations” commented Jacky Zhang, Manager of the International Student Support Team.

The arrival program at Southern Cross University which includes orientation is a comprehensive program that assists students to settle into their new environment and an area in which Southern Cross University excels. The arrival category covers the welcome, local orientation, accommodation, opening a bank account, meeting staff, study sense, health insurance, finance, registration and social activities.

Southern Cross University received very positive feedback in learning with high satisfaction in the learning support, expert lecturers, language support, virtual learning and class size.

Southern Cross University scored above the national average in both satisfaction of the application process and turn around for international applications.

The career development service at Southern Cross University was ranked number one for the high level of support they provide to students with career consultations, helpful hints and tips for the interview process and a portal to access available jobs right from orientation.
