Kids on campus — parents’ rooms and childcare
The Coffs Harbour campus parents’ room is located on the lower ground floor of F Block, near the bus stop (F.LG.4). Available for staff and students Monday–Friday, the room is fitted with a baby change table, fridge, feeding chair, lounge, sink and children’s table and chairs. A key can be obtained from the Coffs Harbour Student Association located next to the parent’s room. If the SCU student association is closed, please ring security on 02 6659 3091.
The Gold Coast campus also has a dedicated parents’ room located on the ground floor of Building B. The access to this room is by staff/student ID card with a swipe reader located at the room entrance. The room contains a baby change table, sink and a feeding chair.
Parents’ rooms are located in the Student Common Room in the Goodman Plaza and in U2.18 (see Lismore campus map). Facilities include a baby change table, sink, private space for feeding, fridge (Student Common Room only) and microwave (Student Common Room only).
LEXSA has also recently refurbished the parent's room in Goodman Plaza in 2019 with the help of their student clubs; SCU Multimedia Club and the Muslim Student Society. The Multimedia Club painted murals on the walls, which are based on children's books while the Muslim Student Society organised to host a toy library with a variety of toys for all children.
The Student Common Room facilities are available 24 hours with a student or staff card. U2.18 is open 8:00am to 9:00pm Monday to Friday (student or staff card required for access after 5:00pm).
Contact the Lismore and External Students’ Association (LEXSA) or the Equity and Diversity Office for enquiries.
