You will complete a core unit in management, communication, and choose three electives from units covering tourism planning, entrepreneurship, tourism and hospitality management, international tourism systems and contemporary issues in the sector.

Topics covered provide you with a foundational understanding of operational and management issues in the tourism and hotel sector relating to planning, sustainability, and social responsibility, as well as applied business and management skills.

You are assessed in each unit on the basis of written and/or oral assignments. These may include researched essays, reports, presentations, case studies, portfolios, online discussions, tests and exams, as well as more interactive assessments such as blogs, wikis, online discussion boards and multi media presentations. You may also be asked to participate in group work as well as individual assignments. The weighting of assessment marks between assignments and examinations varies.

On-campus students experience a variety of teaching approaches including lectures, tutorials, online activities and video-linked or podcast virtual classes. The method of teaching may vary from unit to unit.

Our online study option is highly interactive and strives to promote collaboration and a sense of community. Students may receive a combination of podcast or video-linked lectures, electronic study materials, workshops, online discussion forums and virtual classes.
