Six-week terms
Terms are six-weeks long with a break between each one. You’ll typically study across four Terms a year - it’s up to you!

Yes, this will apply to all international students, which includes student visa holders and non-student visa (NSV) holders.
To help you get the most out of our services and collections, we will:
- Provide you with access to the information and resources you need.
- Provide you with expert advice via chat, phone and email.
- Provide you with access to borrow our physical collections on campus. If you are unable to visit our campuses, we will send physical collection items to your home address with free return postage.
- Send you email and SMS notifications when items are available for collection and reminders to return Library items on time.
To make the most of your Library experience, we ask that you:
- Return your loans on time.
- Take care of the items you borrow from the Library.
- Use Library material for non-commercial purposes related to SCU research, learning and teaching and comply with Copyright Law, vendor and publisher terms of use, and SCU policies.
- Check your University email account and respond to any notices from the Library.
- Engage and communicate with our staff in a respectful and appropriate manner.
HECS-HELP is a loan program providing eligible Commonwealth-supported students with financial assistance from the Australian Government. Through this program, the government covers the study costs as a loan, which is repaid once your income meets the compulsory repayment threshold. Average rent: $200–300 per week for a room in shared accommodation
Most rentals include:
- Furnished rooms
- Bills and internet (check with your provider)
Other accommodation types (such as studios, granny flats, or entire units) will generally cost more.

- Flatmates.com.au – find potential flatmates
💡 Tip: Expand your search radius to nearby suburbs for more options. For example, when searching Coffs Harbour 2450, also add Sawtell/ Toormina (2452), Bellingen (2454), Urunga (2455), Emerald Beach/Woolgoolga/Arrawarra 2456 and so forth.
