Unit description
Explores the naturopathic approach to fertility, pre-conception care, pregnancy, breastfeeding and post-partum health. The unit combines naturopathic knowledge and clinical practice to these reproductive phases and processes alongside a modern physiological understanding and an evidence-based approach. The unit covers infertility, managing pregnancy, assisting breastfeeding and maintaining post-partum health.
Unit content
Topic 1: Overview of reproductive health and causes of infertility and complications of pregnancy
Topic 2: Naturopathic approach to fertility and pregnancy
Topic 3: Influences on reproductive health and pre-conception healthcare
Topic 4: Recognising acute emergencies
Topic 5: Managing infertility in women and men
Topic 6: Managing health during pregnancy and post-partum, and assisting breastfeeding.
