Ramon Braga completed his Bachelor's in Meteorology at the Federal University of Campina Grande (Brazil) and his Master's and Ph.D. in Meteorology at the National Institute for Space Research (Brazil). During his PhD, he visited the Hebrew University of Jerusalem for one academic year. He was a postdoctoral researcher for three years at the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry (Germany).

His research is focused on aerosol-cloud interactions and the microphysics of clouds and precipitation. The research is based on in situ measurements from aircraft and sensors onboard environmental satellites. He has been leading or contributing to the publication of research papers with several research groups in Brazil, Germany, Israel etc.

Currently, he is working on the Reef Restoration and Adaptation Program (Cooling & Shading sub-program) at Southern Cross University, particularly investigating the viability of engineering intervention in marine clouds through the Marine Cloud Brightening technique.
