I am a molecular geneticist and plant physiologist with a strong interest in the plant secondary metabolites and mineral nutrition availability. My research interest are currently focused on understanding the complex interactions of crop genome and environment related to sulphur metabolism and pungency of mustard; genetic manipulation of seed storage proteins and secondary metabolite (glucosinolate) of Indian mustard; genetic mapping of Brassica rapa by using next generation sequencing approaches; understanding the interaction between epigenetic marks and potassium nutrition variability on brassica genome; breeding mustard genotypes suitable for Australian climate and breeding brassicas for aphid resistance.
