Ms Michelle Molgaard

Michelle is a Technology Facilitator within the Centre for Teaching and Learning at Southern Cross University and brings a wealth of international experience along with a profound commitment to education.

During her time at Southern Cross University, Michelle's responsibilities have centred around upskilling academics in the effective utilisation of diverse teaching technologies. Her involvement extends to several other university-wide initiatives, including the enhancement of the Introducing the Southern Cross Model Blackboard site, the redesign of the New to Teaching at SCU Blackboard site and the development of the SCU Partners SoLT Blackboard site.

Originally from Denmark, Michelle's educational journey has taken her across the globe, providing her with a unique perspective on educational and educational philosophy.

Michelle started her professional career in Educational Technology at the University of South Denmark while pursuing an undergraduate degree in Education minoring in Technology. During this time, she assumed a pivotal role supporting academics of the first online undergraduate programme in Denmark using various technology tools to provide authentic and innovative learning solutions. Her role also included inducting new students into the programme and providing technical and educational support to students in using these tools efficiently.

Subsequently, Michelle was admitted into a postgraduate programme at Aarhus University in Copenhagen, Denmark, studying a Masters of Anthropology of Education and Globalisation. Concurrently, Michelle took on the role of a Student Educational Consultant at the University of Copenhagen. In this role, she offered her technical and educational expertise to educational consultants and academics involved in the development, delivery, and evaluation of various academic programmes. Additionally, Michelle collaborated with executives to design professional development resources for the upskilling of technical capabilities among professional staff.

Michelle is especially passionate about equal opportunities for education and interested in the role that Higher Education plays in Sustainable Development. Furthermore, Michelle is an advocate for wellbeing among students and staff in Tertiary Education, recognising the importance of wellbeing in achieving educational excellence.
