Biography

Blake holds a PhD, Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), and a Graduate Diploma of Education Studies, with an academic and professional background spanning psychology, education, and allied health. He began his teaching career at Southern Cross University in 2020 and has been actively involved in the Preparing for Success Program (PSP) since 2023.

Blake’s doctoral research explored embodied arts therapies for older adults, with a particular focus on music and dance, using a phenomenological and embodied lens to examine wellbeing, meaning-making, identity, and social connection. His interests in how embodiment shapes learning and well-being informs his scholarship of learning and teaching at SCU College. Blake values authenticity in the learning environment and strives to create spaces where students feel supported, understood, and are able to build their confidence.
