Janette Ellis

Janette’s long history in education encompasses maths and science teaching in Victoria and NSW, educational publishing and an EdTech startup. She is an advocate of plain English and inclusive education, and aims to simplify concepts for students without oversimplifying them. For Janette, the learner is at the heart of the educational experience, with all other factors playing a supporting role. She enjoys the iterative and collaborative nature of the learning design process, working towards continuous improvement of the student experience while incorporating a wide range of evidence-based educational approaches and practices. Janette has been employed as an educational designer since 2020 and has been with SCU since January 2022.
