Biography
I completed a PHD at UNSW in the 1980s. Since then I have worked at ANU, Macquarie, the University of Newcastle, and SCU (from 2001).
Research
My background is in the experimental study of learning, but during the first decade of this century my focus was on the scholarship of teaching and learning. I held grants from the Committee for Advancement of University Teaching, and was involved in the Disciplinary Review funded by the Office for Teaching and Learning. Since the establishment of the psychological laboratories (in 2012) have been re-engaging with experimental psychology, psychophysiology and behaviour analysis.
Supervision
I am currently involved in the supervision of a number of postgraduate students working in a diverse range of topic areas, including emotional processing, sustainable behaviour, gambling, and human factors.
Teaching
I currently teach an undergraduate unit in behaviour change and an Honours unit in research methods. I have taught a wide range of units in psychology including physiological psychology, learning and memory and quantitative methods.
Other
I am a member of the Australian Psychological Society, the Association for Psychological Science, the Association for Behavior Analysis International, the Australian Association for Behaviour Analysis, the NZ Association for Behaviour Analysis, and the European Association for Behaviour Analysis.
