Biography

Zyana Gall is a proud Truwulway woman from Lutruwita (Tasmanian Aboriginal), and currently works as a research assistant at the National Centre for Naturopathic Medicine, at Southern Cross University, in Dr Alana Gall's research team. All her research is with First Nations Peoples, with a current focus on eating disorders, Palliative Care and caring for Country.

Ms Gall is passionate about fostering First Nations Peoples' of Australia social and emotional wellbeing and is committed to supporting First Nations communities in their journey towards holistic health. With a deep reverence for First Peoples' Cultural Medicines, she is a strong advocate for their inclusion into mainstream healthcare, through respecting cultural wisdom and ancestral knowledge.

Ms Gall's dedication extends to championing neurodiversity, advocating for inclusivity and understanding in all facets of life. She firmly believes in the importance of addressing mental health concerns with empathy and evidence-based approaches, striving to reduce stigma and promote wellness for all.

Moreover, I am driven by a keen interest in public policy, recognising its power to enact positive change on a societal level. Through my work, I aim to contribute to policies that prioritise the well-being and rights of marginalised communities, fostering a more equitable and compassionate society.
