Biography
Adele Wessell is an Associate Professor in History with the School of Arts and Social Sciences at Southern Cross University. Through an interest in environmental history Adele turned to the study of food, it's production, preparation and consumption.
Research
Adele's research is in the field of Food History. She has published on food as communication, nonhuman animals and tastescapes as an expression of the impact of eating on land use.
Community engagement
Adele has a scholarly interest and commitment to community engagement and community engaged learning and research. Adele is co-editor of Locale: The Australasian-Pacific Journal of Regional Food Studies. She is also co-founder of the Australasian Food Studies Network and the Regional Food Network.
Supervision
Adele supervises a number of higher degree research students and teaches Australian History, Food Systems and Community Engagement projects.
