Biography
Pauline Roberts is an Associate Professor in Early Childhood studies at Southern Cross University (SCU), based in Perth, WA.

Source: ScopusAcross her experience at Murdoch and Edith Cowan Universities Pauline has taught courses across Early Childhood, Primary and Research sectors. Her teaching background includes a range of curriculum and content areas including early years Science and STEM, early childhood leadership, transition to the workforce, research units and advocacy. In her current roles at SCU Pauline is engaged in teaching early childhood units and coordinating post-graduate programs in Primary and Secondary.
Research
Pauline’s doctoral research centred on the use of an ePortfolio to scaffold reflection which has remained an ongoing area of interest and research. She has completed research into early childhood science and technology including as a member of the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Digital Child (CEDC). She has published widely and presented at conferences in Australia and Internationally. She has received funding for research through the CEDC as well as from Goodstart, Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA), the Association of Independent Schools - Western Australia (AISWA) and ECU. Pauline has also supervised students to completion of their Doctoral or Masters’ Research projects.
Part of Pauline’s experience also includes as a reviewer for multiple journals and serving on the Editorial Board of both the Australasian Journal of Early Childhood (AJEC) and the Australian Journal of Teacher Education (AJTE). She is a member of Early Childhood Australia’s (ECA) Publications committee and edited the Research in Practice (RIP) series.
