Research Areas

My research focuses on computational geomechanics and granular media, with particular emphasis on understanding the fundamental behaviour and mechanics of granular materials. My work integrates computational physics, particle-scale mechanics, mathematical and physics-informed modelling, numerical simulation, particle morphology, advanced imaging, and experimental characterisation to investigate the mechanisms governing granular material behaviour.

I am also interested in the design, optimisation, and performance assessment of granular, cemented, sustainable, and waste-derived materials. A key focus of my research is linking particle-scale mechanisms and material structure to engineering performance, developing computational approaches that support the development of innovative and sustainable materials for practical engineering and construction applications.

Supervision and Mentorship

I am actively involved in student supervision, professional mentoring, and university industry engagement. I mentor final-year undergraduate, Masters, and PhD students, providing academic guidance, research support, and career development advice.

I also contribute to the University of Sydney alumni mentoring community, including the Sydney University Women in Engineering (SUWIE) Mentoring Program and the Dalyell Professional Mentoring Program. Through Practera, I supervise undergraduate students undertaking university industry projects, supporting their application of academic knowledge to real-world engineering challenges and enhancing their employment readiness.

Professional Memberships and Academic Service

I am a member of the Australian Association for Granular Media (ANAGRAM) and contribute to academic service as a Committee Member and Engineering Representative on the Faculty Research Committee within the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Southern Cross University. In this role, I contribute to research discussions, initiatives, and activities that support research development and collaboration across the Faculty.
