Marina is trained and experienced in Secondary History/HSIE and English education, Special and Inclusive Education, and Primary education (particularly STEM).
SCU experience: Marina has worked as a Tutor and Marker at SCU since the beginning of 2025, particularly on Secondary HSIE/History units. She is the Unit Assessor for EDUC3019 HSIE: Secondary Curriculum and Pedagogy II (Term 3, 2026).
Other Tertiary experience: Marina has been teaching at university level since 2019, across a range of Primary/EC, Primary, Core, and Secondary undergraduate and postgraduate education courses. She has worked as a Casual Academic and an Associate Lecturer at the University of Newcastle, and she has coordinated (UA'd) courses focused on Educational Leadership for Digital Learning (Postgrad) and K-6 Science and Technology (Undergrad).
Marina additionally possesses several years of experience as a Tertiary Supervisor/University Mentor, senior TPA marker, and SimTeach mentor.
Marina's PhD research is focused on Experiential Learning pedagogy, student engagement and historical understandings. She is also involved in EdTech research.
