Biography
Gabby is a dual-qualified Registered Nurse and Midwife, currently appointed as a Nurse Lecturer with the Faculty of Health with a strong commitment to developing workforce-ready graduates capable of practicing to the full scope of their profession. Gabby's teaching is underpinned by a focus on clinical readiness, critical thinking, and the integration of theory into practice.
Gabby maintains clinical currency in maternal health and neonatal nursing, ensuring that her teaching remains aligned with contemporary clinical standards and practice environments. Gabby is also a Higher Degree Research (HDR) student, with a research focus on the impact of complications arising from freebirth on health service delivery and care providers.
Gabby's academic experience includes leading teaching teams in specialty areas such as paediatrics, as well as contributing to curriculum design and development. Gabby has a particular interest in simulation-based education and has been involved in embedding and facilitating both high- and low-fidelity simulation to enhance student learning and clinical preparedness.
