Biography
Mr Masum Billah is a PhD Candidate in the Faculty of Health at Southern Cross University, Australia. He obtained a Master’s in Public Health in Disasters from Karolinska Institute, Sweden, and the University of Oviedo, Spain, as well as a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Sociology (Honours) from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He achieved two prestigious foreign scholarships: Australian Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship for PhD in Public Health and European Erasmus Mundus Scholarship for a Master’s degree in Public Health.
Research
Mr Masum Billah is a medical sociologist, an epidemiologist and an implementation scientist. His research focuses on health risk behaviours (SNAP), health promotion, non-communicable diseases, digital health, environmental health, mental illnesses, and psychiatric epidemiology. His publication records demonstrate good impact factors and citations in recognised journals. He presented his study findings at international conferences, congresses, and seminars.
Teaching
He is a Sessional Teaching Academic in the Faculty of Health, Southern Cross University, Australia. He serves as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at East West University, Bangladesh. His expertise is leveraging epidemiological data and evidence-informed policies and interventions across a multidisciplinary research landscape.
