Dr Georgina Dimopoulos is one of Australia’s leading socio-legal scholars on children’s rights and participation in family law. She is an Associate Professor of Law and a Research Associate of the Centre for Children and Young People at Southern Cross University.

Dr Dimopoulos’ research across family law, children's rights and family violence aims to strengthen children’s meaningful, safe participation in decision-making processes. Her book, Decisional Privacy and the Rights of the Child (Routledge, 2022), presents a new model for enabling and listening to children’s voices.
Dr Dimopoulos has successfully led research projects that implement ethical, innovative co-research methodologies with children and young people as lived experience experts, in collaboration with industry partners.
Dr Dimopoulos was admitted to legal practice in Australia in 2010. She holds a PhD in Law, a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Arts (Media and Communications), from the University of Melbourne.
