Prior to joining Southern Cross University, he gained extensive research experience at Monash University, RMIT University and Nanyang Technological University Singapore. His research mainly focuses on computational mechanics and life-cycle analysis of deteriorated infrastructure. His most recent areas of activity are failure prediction of deteriorated water pipelines by combining computational modelling, fracture mechanics and structural reliability, and evaluation of the use of spray and cured-in-place-pipe liners for pipe rehabilitations. Dr. Fu has published over 50 journal and conference papers and several industry reports.
