Biography

Dr. Khosro Fallahnezhad is a Mechanical Engineer and Lecturer specialising in advanced manufacturing, tribology, biomaterials, and computational modelling. With a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Flinders University, his research focuses on additive manufacturing, the performance of biomedical implants, and predictive modelling of wear and fatigue. He has collaborated with several industry partners such as Bombardier Transportation, Downer Group, and Seed Terminator, delivering solutions that improved railway reliability, extended implant longevity, and advanced sustainable machinery design.

His work contributes to the following UN Sustainable Development Goals

Research

His research has been recognized with awards including the William H. Harris Award (Orthopaedic Research Society, 2024) and supported by competitive funding from the Bone Health Foundation.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Fallahnezhad has taught a wide range of subjects including Solid Mechanics, Materials Selection in Design, Finite Element Methods, Engineering Materials, and Dynamics. He applies project-based learning, simulations, and blended delivery methods to foster critical thinking and industry-ready skills. He has also supervised PhD, master’s, and honours students in areas spanning advanced manufacturing, materials behavior, and tribology.
