Carlos Kucera

Dr Carlos Kucera is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Education (PDHPE) at Southern Cross University. He holds a Bachelors degree in Physical Education from the University of Pernambuco (Brazil), as well as a postgraduate degree in Sports Training and a Masters in Physical Education and Movement Culture. He completed his PhD at the University of Auckland (New Zealand) and has taught and conducted research across Australia, New Zealand, and internationally. Carlos brings over 20 years of experience in teaching and coaching globally across school, university, and high-performance sport settings. His research explores the relationship between theory and practice, focusing on praxis, self-study, qualitative methodologies, and the experiences of teachers, particularly immigrant educators. His interests also include games and sports pedagogy, which he applies across his work as an educator, lecturer, and researcher.
